In a guesthouse you're welcomed rather than simply accommodated. The pool is rarely large, but it's quieter than at a hotel. Around Mont-Saint-Michel and Granville, a warm swim mostly means a gîte with an indoor pool. For now, only one place of this type meets my criteria around Mont-Saint-Michel and in Granville: Chambre d'hôtes avec piscine, baie du Mont-Saint-Michel.

None of the places selected around Mont-Saint-Michel and in Granville clearly advertises a pool heated all year round. At Chambre d'hôtes avec piscine, baie du Mont-Saint-Michel, heating is seasonal (1 may to 30 september). Either way, ask for the heating dates before you book.

The word "heated" on a booking page isn't enough. Every place must have a rating of at least 8/10 (or 4/5) and carries one of these four levels.
