With a hotel there's no need to ask for the heating or look after the pool: you just go down for a swim. In Menton and Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, the choice is limited: a solar-heated pool, an indoor pool and a jacuzzi on a terrace. For now, only one place of this type meets my criteria in Menton: Hôtel Napoléon.

The pool. Solar-heated outdoor pool, according to the Frommer's guide.

Guide's tip. Solar heating depends on the sunshine: ask about the water temperature if you're coming in early spring.
These places don't have a confirmed heated pool, but they do have a hot tub: the water is hot all year round. A good way to relax in the warm.
