A large outdoor pool, a covered pool in the spa, or both: hotels are often the best equipped for a warm swim. In Athens, warm swimming mostly happens in the spas of the big hotels, a short walk from the monuments. Here are the 13 hotels I've selected in Athens, all rated at least 8/10; I particularly recommend Asomaton by Oniro, The Dolli at Acropolis, A Hotel to Live and The Stanley.

Opinions on the pool are mixed: some find it odd that it's in the lobby, in full view, and give it a low score. I haven't yet found guest reviews that mention the water temperature.

On Kayak the pool scores 8/10 and features among the positives, with no details on the temperature. I haven't yet found guest reviews that talk about how warm the water is.
Guide's tip. The indoor pool is by appointment, and under-17s only have access until 2 pm: book your slot as soon as you arrive.

A guide specialising in family travel describes the indoor pool as heated year-round, and Fodor's names it among Athens' beautiful spa pools. The visible Kayak reviews don't mention the pool.

In my selection, the top-rated is Asomaton by Oniro (Hotel), with 8.9/10 (1,714 reviews · Kayak). Next come The Dolli at Acropolis, A Hotel to Live (9.8/10) and The Stanley (8.8/10).
Yes at Divani Caravel, Electra Palace Athens, Hotel Grande Bretagne, a Luxury Collection Hotel and NYX Esperia Palace Hotel Athens: the pool is advertised as heated all year round. At The Dolli at Acropolis, A Hotel to Live and Novotel Athènes, heating is seasonal (heated in winter). Asomaton by Oniro, Conrad Athens The Ilisian and Academias Hotel, Autograph Collection have an indoor pool, sheltered from the wind. Either way, ask for the heating dates before you book.
None of the places selected in Athens gives a precise temperature. Ask the property before booking, especially out of season.

The word "heated" on a booking page isn't enough. Every place must have a rating of at least 8/10 (or 4/5) and carries one of these four levels.
